In recognizing that September is Suicide Prevention month, the WUSD Counseling department’s goal is to continue to show support and provide awareness for suicide prevention. WUSD counselors and student support staff are available to help if you or someone you know is experiencing suicidal thoughts or a mental health crisis. You can also call or text 988 immediately.

Join the Washington Unified School �鶹�� Wellness Committee!

Washington Unified School �鶹�� is looking for parents, students, staff, and community members to join our Local School Wellness Policy (LSWP) Committee. This is a great opportunity to make a lasting impact on student health and wellness in our schools by being a part of the wellness policies of our district. We meet 3-5 times a year with a focus on reviewing the current policy, noting where goals can be created, and assessing how those goals are being met. These goals include: promoting a healthy school environment, supporting student nutrition and physical activity goals, and ensuring adherence to state and federal requirements.

Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Grant

The Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program is available at West Fresno and American Union. Both schools were awarded a school grant and with this additional funding students will receive free fruit and vegetables as a snack during the school day no less than four times a week!
